UNCTAD’s contribution to three decades of debate includes the conceptualisation of issues, such as the legal environment for technology transfer and the various channels for acquisition; case studies of the energy, food processing, capital goods sectors, among others, and country studies of best practices in technology acquisition. In the area of consensus building, UNCTAD provided a forum for deliberation of issues and negotiation of terms and condition for transfer and acquisition of technology.
